"  You'd think it wasn't possible but Gilden Lodge was even better than it looks on the web! Our family, ranging from 20s to  80s, spent a wonderful long weekend at the house. It's a quick drive to downtown Mt. Shasta but the views and starry night sky make you feel like you're miles from anywhere. The house was spotless, well equipped, and absolutely beautiful. The media room downstairs was a treat in the evenings and even with 10 people in the house, we never felt crowded in the large living area. The house is close to great hiking and rafting. We'll be back!   "
